Photographic Work (2015)
The series of photographic works came about through a desire to see whether a vertigo effect, produced through a confrontation with otherness, might be achieved through the simple placing of images upon one another - photographs, photocopies, text, and transparencies. The work is an investigation into whether the effects of masking could still function when the method of its production is left entirely visible. I also wanted to produce a series of works that was fresh, yet very precise, and created a tension between formal structures and the abstract mark.
